Effective November 8, 2026
Privacy policy
Still is made by Steven Pajewski. This policy covers the Still iPhone app, its widgets and watch complication, and the website at stillfaithful.app.
The short version
- There is no sign-in. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your reading stays on your device: saves, highlights, notes, hearts, conversations, evening notes and settings.
- Your words leave your device only when you choose to talk something through online, look for a passage online, or share a passage with the community.
- We don’t sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
What stays on your device
These are stored on your iPhone, and are never sent to us:
- Your reading profile: sources, interests, saved passages, highlights and notes, hearts, collections and reading history.
- Conversations you keep, half-written messages, and evening notes.
- The days you opened Still, used only for “Looking back” and the “stopped by” line.
- Your nickname, your language and Bible edition, your choices in setup, and your morning reminder setting. The reminder is scheduled by your phone.
iCloud sync
If sync is on, your reading profile and kept conversations are copied to your own iCloud account so they reach your other Apple devices. Apple holds that copy under its own privacy policy. We can’t see it. You can turn sync off in Make it yours.
The first time you talk something through, Still creates a random key in your iCloud Keychain. That key, not your name, identifies your private account. Your Apple ID is never shared with us.
What we receive, and when
When you talk something through online, or look for a passage online. We ask first. If you agree, we receive what you write, the passages chosen, and your style and tone choices. If you turned on “Use saved readings and interests”, up to two of your saved passages that fit, with a little of their context, may be sent too. We pass this to an outside AI service to write the reply.
We don’t store what you write or the reply. We record only counts: how many requests your account made each day, the number of words processed (as tokens), and whether each request succeeded. Per-account counts are deleted after 35 days. Requests that write replies are sent with the AI service’s “do not store” setting. The AI service may keep requests for up to 30 days to watch for abuse, and doesn’t use them to train its models.
Some messages are checked on your device for signs of crisis first. In that case nothing is sent, and you are shown ways to reach help.
When you share a passage with the community. We store the exact passage, what you shared it for, and your private account’s ID, so the passage can appear in other readers’ feeds and you can withdraw it. Shared passages don’t show a name. You can withdraw any share from My shares.
With every request. Our hosting provider receives standard technical information, such as IP address, time and device type, and keeps request logs for a short time.
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Your reader preferences stay in your browser’s storage.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent personal information.
- We don’t use your words to train AI models, and we choose service settings that keep them from being used that way.
- We don’t build advertising profiles or track you across other apps or websites.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Still:
- Vercel hosts the website and the app’s server.
- Supabase stores private accounts, usage limits and community shares.
- OpenAI writes replies and helps find passages, only when you choose to talk something through or search online.
- Apple provides iCloud, notifications and app distribution.
Your choices
- Stay on your device. Say no when Still asks to talk online. Everything else still works.
- Delete your account. In the app, go to Me, then Make it yours, then Delete account. This removes your private account and anything you shared with the community. What’s on your device stays until you delete the app.
- Turn off iCloud sync in Make it yours.
- Ask us to access or delete information linked to your account: help@stillfaithful.app.
Children
Still is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Support and safety
Still is not a medical, counseling or emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number. In the U.S., you can call or text 988, or call 988 and press 2 for Spanish.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. For a significant change, we’ll also tell you in the app.
